DANGOTE CRASHES CEMENT PRICE

...Promises to Reduce It Even Further
...Expanding Network of Plants
Dangote Cement have brought down the price of the company's cement varieties from N1899 to N1300. The move, announced by the company is to ensure the product is affordable to all segments of its market.

The price slash is made possible by the reduction in cost of production made possible by recent expansion of the dangote Cement manufacturing capacity. Announcing further expansion to the media, the Group Managing director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Dangote Cement Plc Devakumar Edwin said that there will be an Okpella plant, to be made up of one line and an Itori plant that will have two production lines.

Onne Vander Weijde, the Group Managing director of Dangote Industries Limited,  explained that the demand for cement was still very high as Nigeria's population was growing at a fast rate.

He disclosed that their production capacity in Nigeria alone makes it possible for the company to supply the entire western and central Africa, hinting that Dangote cement is exporting to Niger, Ghana, Togo and will soon be selling to Cote'd Ivoire.

Devakumar also explained that, as the company steadily expands the spread of its manufacturing plants, thereby reducing the cost of transportation, they are going to further reduce the price of cement in the future, as well as create more jobs for host communities.
